"Catherine is a healer. She has worked with me during my chemotherapy and recovery by calming my digestion and neuropathy, encouraging lymph drainage, and unclenching muscle tension. I always feel relaxed and restored after an hour with Catherine, and think of her massage technique as meditation for my body. She is creative, changing approach as my symptoms have changed. I love my time with Catherine!"

Somato Emotional Release

Somato Emotional Release (SER) is the expression of emotion, that, for the patient’s/client’s nonconscious reasons, has been retained, suppressed, and isolated within the body. For the ESR process to be undertaken there must be a high degree of trust between the patient/client and therapist. SER is signaled by the onset of very subtle to very large, yet meaningful and spontaneous movements of the body and /or its parts.

Authentic tissue or body  release is signified by a softening of the general body. Warmth will radiate from significant areas of the body. Pain if present will diminish or disappear completely. Range of movement, if initially restricted, will improve. The patient/client may experience the release of an emotionally charged energy.
